Basehor-Linwood sweeps Piper boys, girls
The defending Kansas 4A state champion Basehor-Linwood Bobcats took it to Piper Tuesday night.
The Bobcats defeated Piper 62-41, improving to 13-2 on the season.
Ryan and Colin Murphy did their share of the damage, scoring a combined 36 points. Ryan scored 21, while Colin added 15.
Piper was held to just four first quarter points and 14 overall in the first half. Basehor doubled the Pirates 28-14 at the half.
After Piper outscored Basehor 17-16 in the third quarter, the Bobcats laid it on in the fourth, outscoring Piper 18-10.
Meanwhile, the girls had some more luck, but lost a tough two-point game to the Lady Bobcats.
Piper was led by Danyelle Cole's 17 points and Patrice Lasley's 11 points in the Lady Pirates' 44-42 defeat.
Piper led most of the way, but a six-point fourth quarter doomed them.
