U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) visited with officials from the Board of Public Utilities and toured the utility's Nearman Creek Power Plant facility.
While on the tour, officials from BPU and the senator (and possible next governor) discussed matters of energy and what BPU does.
“We were extremely pleased that Senator Brownback took time from his busy schedule to visit Wyandotte County and tour BPU’s facilities,” stated Don Gray, General Manager. “He was extremely interested in utility operations issues, had a good grasp of energy related matters, asked insightful questions throughout the tour, and took the time to meet some of our associates.”
