COURT BEAT: 15-year-old sentenced for homicide

Antwuan Taylor, a 15-year-old, was sentenced today in connection to a murder from April 2008.
Taylor, who was tried as a juvenile, pleaded guilty in November to first deggree murder in connection to the murder of Charles McElroy. The homicide occurred in the area of 32nd and Brown in Kansas City, Kan.
He will spent the maximum in the Juvenile Correctional Facility until he turns 22-and-a-half years old. He was also sentenced to an aftercare and conditional release until he turns 23.
Taylor was tried in an Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction Prosecution case. If he fails to complete his juvenile sentence, he will serve a sentence of life in prison with no possibility for parole for 25 years.
