COURT BEAT: KCK man charged with kidnapping
A Topeka grand jury today returned an indictment of kidnapping for Jason E. Frazier, a Kansas City, Kan., resident.
He's charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
The charges stem from an alleged crime on Oct. 29.
Frazier is alleged to have held up an adult daughter at gunpoint after her and her father got lost after driving from the American Royal to a hotel in Kansas City, Mo.
When prompted for direction, Frazier misled them and eventually pulled his gun out on the daughter.
He could face a maximum penalty of life in federal prison on the kidnapping charge and lesser penalties on the others.
