COURT BEAT: Man involved in KCK drug trafficking ring sentenced

Victory Loya-Cabrera was sentenced to 144 months of federal prison today in a Kansas City, Kan., court for his involvement in a drug trafficking ring.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

He was picked up by police during a routine traffic violation from Kansas 15 and Interstate 35. In his car, police found 1.39 kilograms of pure ice methamphetamine in the man's spare gas tank.

The truck was on its way to Kansas City, Kan.

Two other defendants in the case:

• Ricardo Valencia Garcia. He was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison.

• Pedro Andrad-Madriz. He is awaiting sentencing.
