COURT BEAT: Man sentenced with life in prison for death of 13-year-old

Patricio Briseno, Jr., 18, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years in connection to the shooting death of 13-year-old Ricardo Zamora.

The homicide occurred on Feb. 9 on the 1100 Block of Splitlog. Zamora was killed in a drive-by shooting. Briseno was sentenced to first degree murder and three counts of attempted first deree murder.

A jury convicted Briseno on all four counts in October.
