The Schlagle Stallions found the winning formula Tuesday night, defeating future Kansas City, Kan., League opponent Atchison.
The Stallions prevailed 68-56, improving to 6-9 on the season.
Schlagle was led by Darius Hill's 24 points. Rozell Nunn and B.J. Saunders each added 12 points for the Stallions.
Strong defense led Schlagle, holding Atchison to just six points in the first quarter and 12 in the second quarter. Schlagle led 25-18 at the half.
After a back and forth affair in the third, Schlagle took a 42-36 lead into the final quarter.
Both offenses performed well, with 46 points scored between the teams. Fortunately for Schlagle, they scored 26 of them.
Schlagle is 6-4 against non-Kansas City, Kan., League competition.
