KCK's Gilyeat to make things official Monday
Daniel Gilyeat, a Kansas City, Kan., resident and U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant, will make things official Monday and will place his name on the 2010 Kansas Republican Primary for the Third District of Kansas seat in the House of Representatives.
Gilyeat and supporters will travel in a motorcade Monday from KCK to Topeka to place his name on the ballot. He will be joined by Rick Riddle, his Patriot Truck and members of the Kansas Patriot Guard.
“I want to help bring common sense back to government,” Gilyeat said. “For decades we have sent professional politicians, lawyers and lobbyists to Congress who only serve themselves and not the people they represent. We need leaders who listen to their constituents and understand that if everyday Americans don’t stand up for their constitutional rights we could loose them to the corrupt forces currently threatening our way of life.”
Gilyeat said he chose Monday due to Dec. 7 being the 68th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, when the Japanese attacked the United States. The attack led to America's involvement in World War II.
The rally will begin Monday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 10 a.m. The route will be from Interstate 70 to the State Capitol Building.
