More winter related car accidents from this week
A new batch of vehicular incidents related to this week's snow and ice "storm" have been released by Kansas City, Kan., police.
• 3300 Block of N. 71st Street: A driver was stuck on a hill near this area Tuesday night. The driver, attempting to make a U-Turn, struck a Board of Public Utilities utility pole.
• 4400 Block of Parallel Parkway: A car hit a slick spot on the street, flipped over and hit the median in the area.
• Turner Diagonal: A guard rail was hit by a driver in an incident Wednesday attributed to conditions left by Tuesday's snow event.
• 2000 Block of N. 72nd Street: A car was rear-ended due to a vehicle being unable to stop Wednesday due to adverse road conditions.
• 110th and State Avenue: A two-car accident was caused Wednesday morning due to road conditions, a police report says.
• 126th and Parallel Parkway: A BPU utility poll was struck by a driver in the area after the vehicle lost control after hitting a slick spot on the road.
• N. 72nd Street and Georgia Avenue: A two vehicle accident was caused by ice on the street Tuesday morning. The second vehicle in the case, traveling east on Georgia Avenue, struck the first vehicle while it was traveling south on 72nd Street.
• Parallel Parkway and 62nd Terrace: A vehicle was westbound on Parallel Parkway when spun out and hit a median. A traffic sign was also hit.
• Kansas Avenue and S. 14th Street: Vehicle one in the accident was traveling eastbound on Kansas Avenue when it slid on 14th Street. The second vehicle was struck while turning on westbound on Kansas Avenue.
• Parallel Parkway and 18th Street: A hit-and-run initially was caused by icy conditions. The second vehicle in the case stopped on Parallel Parkway suddenly and was struck by the first vehicle, which slid on the ice. Vehicle two then fled the scene.
• Seminary Street and South Mill Street: A car was traveling westbound on Seminary Street when it slid backward down the street and dropped into a creek.
