Santa Fe Trail sweeps aside Turner
Posted by Nick Sloan on February 10, 2010 - 2:42am
Santa Fe Trail, both boys and girls, defeated Turner Tuesday night at Turner High School.
The Turner boys were defeated by 57-38. A four-point first quarter for the Golden Bears hurt the cause early. Turner was unable to recover from the slow start, trailing by 38-27 after three.
Chuck O'Neal, Turner's leading scorer, was limited to just six points. Isiah Harris scored a team-high 13 points.
The Lady Golden Bears were defeated by a near identical score of 57-36.
Kayla Lupardes scored a team-high 10 points. Overall, eight Turner players scored.
Like the boys team, a four-point first quarter hurt the chances for Turner. The Lady Golden Bears trailed 28-13 at halftime and were unable to gain ground in the second half.
