State of the Government speech Feb. 9

Unified Government Mayor/CEO Joe Reardon will deliver his State of the Government address on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Jack Reardon Convention Center.

The speech will be hosted by the Kansas City, Kan., Rotary Club.

"I appreciate working with all of you in moving our community forward. My address will focus in part on recognizing our collective efforts," Reardon said. "I am hoping you will be able to attend as we discuss where we have been and our hopes for 2010 and beyond."

When is Joe going to fire Gene Bryan? Our homes are dramatically over appraised while those in Johnson County are under appraised. Houses that sold for under $150000 in Edwardsville were over appraised on average at 171% of their actual sales value while million dollar plus houses in Leawood are being under appraised at less than 68% of actual sales values.

In the meantime the Court of Tax Appeals continues to cover up for Bryan. This system is so corrupt and unfair that it's become a complete joke. Fire Bryan. You can't get any worse than 100% wrong.

While you're at it Joe, why don't you tell us why the Treasurer's office won't pay us the money you owe us in a timely manner, or give us an accounting of the money.

Taxes have never been higher than they are right now thanks to the farce of consolidation.
