The Sumner Academy Sabres and Harmon Hawks are receiving state-wide hype as the basketball season begins this week.

The Sabres are ranked fourth in the preseason Kansas Basketball Coaches Association 4A Boys poll, while the Hawks were selected sixth in the 5A poll.

Sumner finished 21-3, including a state appearance, last season. Harmon concluded its season at 15-6, its best in 20 years.
