The United Way of Wyandotte County will host its seventh annual prayer breakfast next Thursday, Dec. 10, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
The breakfast will bring clergy together who support the United Way.
“In the past, we have had a small group trying to contact all 300 churches in the KCK area,” said Father Ron Reed, the United Way's Faith Campaign chairman. “This year, we’re getting more faith community leaders involved and getting the word out more efficiently.”
Last year, the United Way raised $7,700 from the Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kan. Overall, $16,000 was raised from the Faith Campaign last year.
This year, the goal is $17,000.
