Ward raises $200,000 in auction
Bishop Ward High School recently raised over $200,000 during its annual "The Right Choice" Auction in October.
The number is $30,000 above last year's total and is a record amount raised by the event.
“It was an amazing evening as the Bishop Ward community came together to celebrate and show their support for the same cause: to help our students prepare for college and become leaders in our Catholic faith,” President Fr. Michael Hermes said. “Event Chairs Matt ’83 and Angie ’85 Kolenda deserve a big thank you for their parent leadership.”
Alums Marsha Basey and Bill Venable each donated $13,000 to the Mighty Cyclone Scholarship Fund.
With the money, the school will be able to purchase two transportation buses. They will be used to transported students to various activities, including field trips and sporting events.
The school will save about $20,000 a year with the buses.
