Who's new
When casino is built, county can expect some extra "goodies"

Although the concentration of state operated gaming has been on how much revenue will be generated for the state, organizations within Wyandotte County will also see some benefit after the Hollywood Casino is built.
• The Unified Government will collect property taxes on the casino each year, assuming they are paid.
• The UG will also receive an additional one percent of gaming revenues for unrestricted use.
• $500,000 will be provided each year to non-hosting school districts. The Kansas Hollywood casino is located mostly within the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Public Schools District.
• $500,000 will be provided annually to community services and charitable causes within Wyandotte County.
• $100,000 will be provided to the UG's Park and Recreation Department.
• $25,000 will be paid to the Conventions and Visitors Bureau.
• $10,000 will be donated per year to the county's Chambers of Commerce.
• A road course will be built by the Kansas Speedway inside the track.
• Kansas Speedway will petition NASCAR for a second race each season.
