Going green keeps us from turning blue, because while the Earth is approximately 72% water less then 1% of that is available fresh water for nearly 7 billion people.

Topics include using Xeriscaping (water-efficient landscaping) in our landscapes, planning and plant selection, use of rain gardens or rain barrels to reduce water runoff and then using that water in your landscape and adding a water garden to your landscape.

KCK author to hold book talk
Kansas City, Kan., author Eric Smith will discuss his book Half ’N Half: Addressing the Interracial Issues from a Bi-racial Person’s View at the West Wyandotte Library.
The author appearance follows an organizational meeting of the West Wyandotte Writers Group.
The appearance will be held April 12 at 7 p.m. The West Wyandotte Library is located at 1737 N. 82nd St.

Saturday, January 30, 9 a.m. – Practice ACT Test – High school students are invited to register for a full length practice ACT test. Students will experience the testing environment as well as the types of questions they'll find on a real ACT test. Registration required. Exam will take approximately 3 1/2 hours.
